About Drifttle

Drifttle is a boutique bilingual digital consultancy founded in 2020 and based in the Isle of Man.

We help small and medium-sized businesses and professional practices navigate the technical, linguistic and regulatory complexities of working with Chinese platforms and vendors.

Our lead consultant brings more than 25 years’ experience in IT support, project management and cross-border digital delivery across the UK, the Isle of Man and China. Rather than attempting to do every task in-house, we act as a trusted client-side advisor: we scope needs, recommend and brief vetted third-party providers, coordinate delivery and verify outcomes — all in English and Chinese.

Who we help

We typically work with:

  • Small or family-run businesses with Chinese-facing customers or suppliers.
  • Professional services (accountants, advisors) needing bilingual technical support.
  • Retailers and hospitality operators requiring Chinese payment or social media features.
  • Organisations that value a high-touch, reliable partner to manage Chinese vendors and technical delivery on their behalf.

Problems we solve (practical, scenario-based)

Many SMEs face a combination of language, technical and marketplace barriers that stop projects before they start. Typical situations we resolve:

  1. Language & vendor coordination
Scenario: A local hotel needs to enable WeChat Pay and publish Chinese content. They can’t effectively communicate requirements to Chinese suppliers and fear being mis-quoted or delayed.
How we help: We translate requirements, brief the vendor, and act as the client’s liaison in both languages.
  2. Lack of in-house technical confidence
Scenario: A small accountancy firm receives advice to “move to cloud” but is unsure which provider or configuration is right.
How we help: We assess needs, recommend a practical setup, create a short spec for developers or managed-service providers, and validate delivery.
  3. Platform & compliance unfamiliarity
Scenario: A retailer wants to open official accounts on Chinese social platforms but is concerned about account types, content rules and payment setup.
How we help: We map platform options, prepare required documents, and manage the registration and verification process.
  4. Hybrid user base (private + business)
Many UK IT providers either serve private individuals or enterprise accounts — rarely both. That leaves SMEs and owner-operators underserved for bilingual, mixed-context support (e.g. owner’s personal devices vs business systems). We provide a hybrid model that covers both business and business-related personal device support where appropriate.

Our core services (snapshot)

  • Bilingual IT Support — local and remote helpdesk, onsite visits (Isle of Man), device onboarding, network setup, backups and security baseline checks.
  • Digital China Market — WeChat/Xiaohongshu account setup, content planning, SEO/SEM coordination and Chinese e-payment integrations (WeChat Pay / Alipay).
  • Outsourced Development Advisory — Odoo localisation, WeChat mini-program scoping, vendor sourcing and project supervision with bilingual liaison.

All services can be delivered as: token-based ad-hoc support, subscription maintenance, or project engagements with targeted oversight.

Tokens — how they work (standard definition)

We use a simple token model to deliver flexible, payable time:

  • Remote Token = 60 minutes of remote bilingual support (screen share, diagnostics, configuration).
  • Onsite Token = 30 minutes of on-site technician time (Isle of Man only).

Rules

  • Tokens are purchased in packages or as part of entry packs.
  • Tokens are valid for 6 months from purchase.
  • Tokens may be used for: (a) direct customer support, (b) third-party coordination, (c) minor onsite work, (d) vendor clarifications — subject to package allowances.
  • Tokens are transferable within the same registered client account but not refundable.

Examples of token use

  • Remote Token: Troubleshoot email deliverability; configure a backup schedule; remote install of a SaaS connector.
  • Onsite Token: Short hardware diagnostics; printer network setup visit.
  • Third-party coordination: Use tokens to pay for our time liaising with a Chinese agency to resolve an integration issue.
  • Customer handover: Use tokens for bilingual handover training or documentation review.
