Founder's story
Vivian Zhao
The founder of Drifttle on the Isle of Man, let's get to know Vivian Zhao. Vivian has been living in Scotland for over 20 years, having moved from China. During her over 10 years career at the Eric Liddell Centre in Edinburgh, Vivian participated in all projects related to China, drawing inspiration from the profound connection between Eric Liddell and China.
Driven by her passion for cultural exchange, Vivian also founded the Scottish China Culture Linking (SCCL) before 2000, aiming to foster cultural ties between Scotland and China. Despite her dedication, SCCL ceased operations several years ago due to personal constraints.
Familiar with the Isle of Man through personal connections, Vivian was surprised to find a lack of awareness about the island among Chinese institutions, friends, and even the Chinese community in the UK. This realisation ignited her determination to bridge the cultural gap between the Isle of Man and China, believing that the island could benefit from stronger cross-cultural connections, potentially unlocking new business opportunities.
In 2021, Vivian made the bold decision to establish Drifttle on the Isle of Man. Driven by her passion for cross-cultural exchange and motivated by existing business opportunities, Vivian founded Drifttle to address the need for greater cultural connections between the Isle of Man and China.
Corporation journey
Drifttle was established and began operations in the Isle of Man.
The company expanded its focus to provide Odoo system consulting services to local clients and companies planning to expand from China to the UK and Isle of Man.
Collaborated with a Chinese Odoo outsourcing development team to develop customer service plugins for the Odoo community platform.
Due to unforeseen and irreversible changes in the market environment since the COVID-19 pandemic, the company decided to pivot its business model.
Building upon the accumulated experience of the previous years, Drifttle began to see success in new business areas.
Initiated the Sinomanx project, aiming to promote cross-cultural exchange.
