China, designed
around you.
10–14 day itineraries by Dan — Beijing-born, based on the Isle of Man.
Founding traveller rate: £295 for the first 3 itineraries (regular £495)
Three cities, Dan 的走法
Three moments from three corners of China. The full choreography — routes, timing, bookings — is what the itinerary is for.
Breakfast like a Beijinger
The street carts are gone — the old flavours moved into tiny shops. Dan knows which ones still do it right, and what to order when the menu is only in Chinese.
Teahouse time, Chengdu style
Bamboo chairs in People's Park, jasmine tea that never empties, an afternoon that refuses to hurry. China's slowest big city — Dan knows its pace.
The wall at golden hour
Cycle the Ming city wall as the light goes gold, then eat your way down the Muslim Quarter. Two Chinas in one evening: imperial and street-level.
A sketch of taste. The timed, booked, weather-checked version is the product.
Day 3, Beijing: the Forbidden City and the old lanes
One day from a Beijing itinerary — the format every day of your trip gets. Timings are illustrative; booking rules verified October 2026.
Breakfast near your hotel
Light breakfast, then metro to Tiān'ānmén Dōng 天安门东.
Enter at Wǔmén 午门 (Meridian Gate)
Scan your passport at entry. Follow the central axis north through the halls — plan about 3 hours. Last entry 16:00.
Exit at Shénwǔmén 神武门, lunch in the lanes
Out the north gate, lunch around Jǐngshān Park 景山公园 — Dan names the tried places.
Jǐngshān Park 景山公园
Short climb to the pavilion for the view back over the palace roofs. About an hour.
Gǔlóu 鼓楼 area
Drum Tower and the lanes behind it, then dinner — Dan's pick, with dish names in Chinese and a booking tip.
Booking deadlines that make or break this day
- Forbidden City ticket: released 20:00, 7 days ahead — they sell out. Real-name booking, passport number needed. Closed Mondays.
- Dinner: reserve ahead at weekends.
If it goes wrong: palace sold out or heavy rain → Temple of Heaven in the morning, lanes and dinner in the afternoon. Every Dan day ships with a fallback.
Booking rules verified October 2026 on the Palace Museum booking site. Routes, walking times and costs are set per trip — your itinerary is built around your hotel, pace and dates.
Three kinds of travellers, one common problem
Overwhelmed planners
Your family has always wanted China, but the language, the trains, the apps and the payments put you off. Dan takes the planning off your plate.
Independent culture travellers
You'd never join a group tour, but you want more depth than the highlight reel.
Bringing a partner “home”
Chinese diaspora travelling with a foreign partner: two perspectives, one trip, no compromises.

Tell us about your trip
Dates, interests, pace, budget, who's coming. A relaxed planning conversation, in English, by email and message.
Dan designs your days
Routes researched, transport compared, sights sequenced the way a local would do it. Your draft itinerary lands in your inbox for review.
Refine, then travel
One revision round is included. Then you book everything yourself, with the checklist.
Four principles, every itinerary
This is what you're buying — not just a route, a way of seeing China.
Local first
Designed from inside the culture, not from a guidebook. Dan plans the China she knows — then translates it for you.
No tourist traps
If the tour buses go there, Dan routes around it. If it's genuinely worth it, she tells you exactly when to go.
Your pace, your trip
Temple at dawn or sleep in? Food crawl or museum morning? The itinerary bends to how you travel.
Independent by design
No commissions, no preferred suppliers, no kickbacks. Advice that answers only to you.
Designed in the UK.
Rooted in China.
Dan is both sides of the bridge: Beijing-born, based on the Isle of Man. She plans with a local's knowledge and a Western traveller's expectations in mind.
- Plans in your timezone, communicates in plain English
- Knows what Western travellers actually worry about — food safety, toilets, crowds, scams — and designs around it
- Beijing-born, China-travelled: hutong breakfasts to Chengdu teahouses, the real country behind the postcards
- Independent advice — no commissions, no preferred suppliers, no group-tour logic

Read the full terms
1. Who you're contracting with
You are contracting directly with Dan Sang, a sole trader based in the Isle of Man ("Dan"). Correspondence: 6 Alderley Close, Douglas, Isle of Man. Email: sangdan1978@gmail.com. These terms are governed by Isle of Man law.

Planning and advice only: Dan does not book flights, hotels or tickets, and is not a travel agent, tour operator or reseller.
3. Price
£295 founding rate for the first 3 itineraries, then £495. Per trip — up to 4 travellers, up to 14 days and 4 cities or regions. Larger trips are quoted separately. Prices in GBP. Flights, hotels, visas, tickets, insurance and everything you book yourself are not included. Payment in full by card at booking, before any work begins.
4. How it works
- You pay and complete a short planning questionnaire.
- Planning happens in writing — email or WhatsApp messages, no live calls. Dan may ask one or two follow-up questions.
- Delivery: your PDF within 15 working days of Dan receiving your payment and completed questionnaire. Dan confirms your delivery date after the planning exchange.
- Review: within 14 days of delivery, one round of reasonable changes. Further changes are quoted separately in advance.
5. Cancellation and refunds

- After work has started but before delivery: 50% refund.

Refunds go to the original payment method within 14 days.
Your statutory rights: under Isle of Man law (Consumer Protection Act 1991, Part VIIIA) you have 7 working days from booking to cancel for a full refund. At payment you will be asked whether Dan may start work immediately — if you agree, this cancellation right ends once work begins and the tiers above apply instead. If you do not agree, work starts after the 7 working days.
6. Support
Questions about your itinerary by email or WhatsApp for 30 days after delivery; Dan replies within 3 working days. Support covers questions about the plan — changes count as the review round above. Dan does not offer support while you are travelling.
7. What Dan can't promise
Visa and entry outcomes; prices, opening hours, weather and availability when you travel; that any third party (restaurant, hotel, ticket site) performs as described. You are responsible for your own documents, bookings and insurance.
8. Liability
If Dan fails to meet these terms, her total liability to you is limited to the fee you paid. Nothing here limits liability that cannot legally be limited.
9. Your information
Dan uses your dates, budget, travel style and contact details only to plan your trip and contact you. She keeps them for 12 months after delivery, then deletes them. She does not sell or share your details and does not store card details.
10. Complaints
Email Dan first at sangdan1978@gmail.com — she will respond within 5 working days.
